Special Guest Speaker: WTTW Television Personality Geoffrey Baer
Join your fellow PCA Midwest and Plumbing Council affiliated contractors and PCA Associate members for a special evening with Chicago celebrity Geoffrey Baer, creator and host of several popular shows on WTTW.
Following the business portion of our membership meeting, enjoy a unique opportunity to hear much about the wonderful history of our “windy” city including time devoted to its elaborate plumbing and waterway systems from a master storyteller like Baer.
Geoffrey Baer is a seven-time Emmy-winning Public Television writer, producer and program host. He has been a
fixture on Chicago’s PBS station WTTW for 29 years, known for dozens of feature-length programs about the
architecture and history of Chicago and for his weekly appearances on the news program Chicago Tonight. Nationally he hosts the PBS primetime series 10 that Changed America about the built environment across the country. He hosted and co-wrote the PBS primetime special Weekend in Havana.
Geoffrey has been a docent for the Chicago Architecture Foundation since 1987, and has served on the boards of the Art Institute of Chicago’s Architecture and Design Society and Chicago’s acclaimed Lookingglass Theatre Company. Geoffrey has been honored by AIA-Chicago, the Society of Architectural Historians, the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and the Chicago Headline Club.
All PCA Midwest/Plumbing Council contractors are asked to bring at least one “emerging” leader from their staff to participate and be encouraged to join our “Rising Tide” Network designed to involve, engage and prepare our next generation of plumbing industry leaders.
