    The public outcry for water safety in Flint, Michigan has focused the nation's attention on the issue of lead pipe replacement and public safety concerns in relation to potable water. The PCA and Plumbing Council and its allied organizations are striving to educate consumers about the need for highly trained and certified plumbing professionals to perform lead pipe and fixture change outs when needed.   • PCA Consumer Lead Brochure

    The PCA and the Illinois PHCC have collaborated to develop a new brochure on lead safety in drinking water. It explains what consumers can do to reduce their exposure to lead in their home; offers advice on hiring licensed plumbing contractors to test the lead in water systems; provides helpful industry website links; and includes a consumer acknowledgement and release form for our contractors to keep for their own records.

The Plumbing Council & Our Contractors


Our mission is to help you locate the plumbing services you need. Be they repair, construction or installation services, locating the right plumbing contractor for you is the goal of our organization.

Based on your needs, location and contractor ratings, we'll provide you with referrals for high quality Chicago area contractors.

Our Plumbing Contractor members are dedicated to providing the highest level of quality and service. However, in the event that there is a problem with your plumbing experience we will advocate on your behalf and intermediate with the contractor member in question.

About the Council

Chicago Area Plumbing Industry

We've been serving the Chicago and surrounding communities by providing referral services, education and outreach programs for the Chicago area Plumbing Industry since 1968.

We also serve as the outreach and education arm of Chicagoland's licensed plumbers with informative radio and television education programs. The Council also supports political candidates who share our goals and aspirations.

About Our Contractors

UA Plumbers' Local 130 UA has posted its 2018-2019 C.E. class schedule online for Illinois licensed plumbers. All of these classes (4-hours of IDPH approved C.E. credit) will be held at the UA Plumbers' Local 130 JAC Chicago, Volo or Joliet Training Centers. Click here for a complete listing of the available classes.

The PCA Midwest is sponsoring a 4-Hour C.E. class on Wednesday, November 28th at the Holiday Inn at 860 W. Irving Park Road in Itasca from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. This program is offered at no cost to PCA and Plumbing Council contributing contractors under the Local 130 CBA. To register, click here.
