Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVs)

Some of the homes today have ERVs. These devices exhaust between 75 and 200 cubic feet per minute from the house and bring in fresh air from outside. The exhaust air preheats the incoming air in the winter and pre-cools the incoming air in the summer.

These systems provide a more comfortable, cleaner, fresher environment in the house. Some systems are controlled by a timer and some by a carbon dioxide sensor.

These devices, like your furnace and central air conditioning system, need motors oiled and air filters cleaned. Some of the devices also need belts. Have these systems serviced every year at the same time your furnace is being serviced.
