Learn About Construction Education Institute (CEI) Courses from MCA of Chicago
Did you know there is a wealth of university-quality programs ranging from office computer technology to project management fundamentals available every month for you and your staff through the MCA of Chicago Construction Education Institute® (CEI)? The PCA Midwest has a longstanding relationship with the MCA of Chicago to make these nationally-recognized classes available at no cost to you. The cost of attending the CEI classes taken by PCA Midwest/Plumbing Council Midwest affiliated contractors (and their staff) is paid on your be
half by the Plumbing Council Midwest (Industry Fund). While we encourage everyone in our Association to take advantage of these CEI courses, unfortunately many do not. To shed light on what you might be missing, we have invited CEI Committee Member Chris Bennett, Executive Vice President of Althoff Industries and Rebecca Lintow, MCA of Chicago Director of Education to talk about many of the outstanding programs available for the professional advancement of our contractors and the betterment of the construction industry in the Chicagoland area.
PCA-Local 130 Drug Free Alliance Report from Screen Safe Operations Manager Luci Manos
This refresher on how our mandatory/random drug testing program works will be presented to coincide with our affiliated contractors’ annual opportunity in June of 2018 to “Opt In” or “Opt Out” from having their non-bargained employees included in the drug testing program that’s financed by the Plumbing Council. Note: In addition to all Local 130 members, officers and employees; PCA staff; and trust fund staff, all PCA member contractors & Plumbing Council affiliates can choose to include their non-bargained staff in the random testing pool. Luci will provide a report on our program’s drug testing statistics; will review how the random selection process functions; and will share relevant news and information on drug testing – plus will answer your questions. In addition, Luci will clarify what impact (if any) the expansion of medical marijuana as a form of treatment and the acceptance of legalized recreational marijuana use in more and more states will and will not have on our drug testing program. Don’t miss this interesting and informative overview.
